Inkari produces exclusive handmade product of high comfort, and chooses to work with the highest quality of alpaca wool from Peru. Our products are entirely animal friendly and fair-trade. The local Peruvian farmers with whom we trade are treated with respect, transparency and equality.
Having travelled to Peru many times before, we saw the peace and freedom of Peruvian alpaca farms. Seeing these beautiful alpaca in such a serene, natural habitat, and feeling their incredibly soft wool and what it could create, we were determined to bring this luxury with us back home to the Netherlands.
With the combination of our personal contacts and friends in Peru, and the incredible products produced with alpaca wool, our brand was created: Inkari.
For the past 5 years, founders Daniel Meeboer and Neal Willard have put effort into starting up non-profit projects in Middle and South America. Throughout these years, we have come into contact with all sorts of people from a variety of different social classes and sectors. It included people in extreme poverty to those with extreme wealth, people from different cultures, and people with different philosophies on life and on the world we live in.
Among all these people were those who taught us the traditional way to work with alpaca wool in order to create beautiful, authentic products. Thanks to our never-ending wonder and love for the softness and quality of our products, we often travel for months at a time through Peru to find the best partners and farmers who can provide us with the best combination of luxury, style, and high quality. Our products vary from scarves to slippers, from rugs to throws and pillows.
Our approach of direct personal contact in Peru has lead to trustworthy relationships with experienced producers. These producers provide us with the beautiful products we have available to you today, helping us realise our dream brand: Inkari.
